Pedestrian Killed By Car In North Austin Identified
Police said they consider the death of Sarah Christina Dabadie, 43, a criminal matter after the driver hit her and left the scene last week.
AUSTIN, TX — Police on Monday identified the pedestrian killed after being struck by a vehicle in North Austin last week.
The incident occurred last Thursday just before 1:35 a.m. along the southbound 9100 block of Research Boulevard, according to a police advisory. A preliminary police investigation yielded evidence a woman was in the roadway for unknown reasons before being struck by a vehicle. The driver who hit the woman did not stop, police said, and the identity of the driver is unknown.
Several other motorists stopped to call police, but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene just before 2 a.m., officials said. The deceased woman was identified as 43-year-old Sarah Christina Dabadie.

The incident marked the city's 43rd fatal traffic crash of 2020, police said, resulting in 46 fatalities this year. At this time in 2019, police added, there were 42 traffic fatalities.
