Amazon Adding 3,000 Seasonal Jobs In Pflugerville, Austin
The jobs start at $18 an hour and include a signing bonus of up to $3,000. Amazon is hiring 150,000 people nationally on a seasonal basis.

PFLUGERVILLE, TX – Just a day after it opened, the Pflugerville fulfillment center will be among the Austin-area locations that will provide more than 3,000 seasonal jobs to workers as part of a massive hiring nationwide hiring effort by the retail giant.
Amazon announced on Monday that it will hire 150,000 new employees for jobs that include up to a $3,000 signing bonus and that pay anywhere from $18-$21 an hour, the company said. Amazon is hiring 15,000 seasonal workers in the coming weeks as the company amps up for the holiday season.
The Pflugerville site launched on Sunday and planned to provide about 1,000 jobs. Now, with the addition of the season jobs, which are slated to include positions in stowing, packing and shipping, Amazon officials said, many of those hired on a seasonal basis may end up being offered full-time roles.

The relatively new fulfillment center sits on 93 acres of land and includes more than 820,000 square feet of space. An Amazon spokesman said Monday that the 3,000 jobs will be spread around Austin.
“We are proud to be offering a huge range of full-time, part-time, and now seasonal jobs with great pay and benefits,” said Alicia Boler Davis, Amazon’s senior vice president, Global Customer Fulfillment, said in a news release Monday. “Our seasonal hiring helps us deliver on our promises to customers while also providing flexibility to our full-time employees during busy periods. Joining Amazon in one of our seasonal roles offers high-paying, part-time work, or a path to a full-time position, with benefits like our Career Choice program to help people advance their education and careers within Amazon or beyond.”

New hires will be fully trained, and all facilities follow strict COVID-19 health and safety protocols. Texas is among the states where the largest number of seasonal hires will be made. The $3 extra in pay is based on certain shifts, job titles and responsibilities, the company said.
