PFLUGERVILLE, TX — The City of Pflugerville has announced new trash and recycle restrictions going into effect starting Monday, March 23. The City's solid waste service provider, Waste Connections, will limit residential trash and recycling collection to only items within carts, and all residential bulk and brush collection services will be suspended until further notice.

Residents are advised that any bags or bundles placed outside of carts will not be collected, as to avoid the risk of exposure through manual collection or "pickup by hand". These changes reflect Waste Connections moving into Phase III operations in response to COVID-19, and anticipated to be in effect though May 1, 2020 in accordance to the Austin Public Health Response and its five-phase plan to coordinate COVID-19 response activities. These include:

  • Phase 1: Persons Under Monitoring
  • Phase 2: Persons Under Investigation (Testing in Progress)
  • Phase 3: Confirmed Case(s) (No Person-to-Person spread)
  • Phase 4: Limited Person-to-Person Spread (Close/Household Contacts)
  • Phase 5: Sustained Person-to-Person Spread in the Community

Customers with questions about their change of service may contact the City of Pflugerville at 512-990-6100 or utilitybilling@pflugervilletx.gov. For additional details regarding the response to new coronavirus, or COVID-19 led by Austin Public Health please visit their page HERE.
