Pflugerville ISD Releases Important Announcements, Updates

PfISD families were updated on changes made to scheduled events for the end of the academic year amid COVID-19.

PFLUGERVILLE, TX —Pflugerville ISD released updates on events scheduled for the remainder of the school year. As a result of COVID-19, many in-person events have been cancelled and virtual alternatives have been announced in their place. As the PfISD continues to work on end of year preparations and begins planning the start of the 2020/2021 school year, the following reflect changes to important events marking the close of the academic year.

  • The Annual Employee Recognition Banquet recognizes campus Teachers of the Year, Humanitarians of the Year, Rookie Teachers of the Year, Support Staff of the Year, and Retirees for their service. In light of COVID-19, an in-person banquet for staff members will no longer be held. District staff, parents, students and the community are invited to honor these staff members as their names are announced via the PfISD YouTube channel and the district's Facebook page on Thursday, May 14 at 6:30 p.m.
  • Graduation: A Graduation Committee was created to discuss options for graduation ceremonies. Following Travis County orders, the committee continues working to determine a solution and additional information will be provided to graduating seniors and their families in the coming days.
  • EDP Summer Camps: Limited summer camps through the Extended Day Program (EDP) will be offered through PfISD. Summer camps begin June 8 and run through the week of August 3. Locations of summer camps are Dearing, Riojas, Spring Hill and Wieland Elementary Schools. Limited space available is open to essential and reopened business employers. Registration for the Summer Camp begins on May 18 and registration details can be found on the EDP website, www.pfisd.net. As EDP services reopen, the District will continue to seek guidance from local health officials, childcare licensing boards/bodies, childcare accreditation bodies, health consultants, and other community partners to determine the most appropriate plan and action. As a result of the impact of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), EDP team members are in the process of adjusting child care practices to prioritize and ensure student and employee safety at all times. Please check the EDP website after May 18 to better understand our new practices and to register for Summer Camps. Registration for EDP is currently open for the 2020-2021 school as well.   • Parent Climate Survey: Families are invited to take a brief survey to share their experience at their student's campus. In order to continue providing the highest quality and rigorous learning experiences to meet the needs of students, feedback is a vital way for the District to identify areas of improvement.   • 2020-2021 School Registration: Registration is open for the 2020/2021 school year. Any Pre-K/K families who have missed registration packet pick-up may contact their campus registrar by email to make arrangements for a pick-up.Parents of currently enrolled students will have access to submit 2020-21 enrollment information online beginning in June 2020. In-person registration for the next school year for all other grades will be held on campuses in July: Elementary Schools: Wednesday, July 29 (11 a.m. to 7 p.m.), Thursday, July 30 (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.); Middle Schools: Wednesday, Jul 29 (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.), Thursday, July 30 (11 a.m. to 7 p.m.); High Schools:Tuesday, July 28 (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.), Wednesday, Jul 29 (9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.), Thursday, July 30 (11 a.m. to 7 p.m.)
