Pflugerville Library Hosts Virtual ASL Workshop
The introductory workshop will teach participants how to sign a range of numbers, letters and phrases to communicate more effectively.
PFLUGERVILLE, TX — The Pflugerville Public Library continues to bring the community quality and engaging virtual events and programming for residents to enjoy amid the COVID-19 pandemic, and will host a Virtual American Sign Language Workshop for those interested in learning a new skill. The workshop scheduled Tuesday, June 30 at 10 a.m. includes introductory learning of American Sign Language, including letters, numbers and simple phrases to help you communicate more effectively.
As mask wearing becomes a requirement across communities in the age of COVID-19, those who rely on lip reading or sign language face an increased challenge communicating. Library Tech Joan Meyers will offer insight and learning and anyone 12 and up is able to register to attend (only one registration required per household).
