Pflugerville Mulls Community Development Block Grant Action

The program provides annual grants toward decent housing and a suitable living environment for low-income residents.

PFLUGERVILLE, TX — Pflugerville officials will stage a pair of upcoming public hearings related to the Community Development Block Grant action plan for this year.

The public hearings on the program are scheduled for Tuesday, July 28, and Tuesday, Aug. 11. Given current COVID-19 conditions, public hearings will, either take place at city council chambers, 100 E. Main St., Suite 500, or by video/telephone conference. The agenda for each public hearing will be posted 72 hours prior to the public hearing date.

The purpose of the public hearing is to present the 2020 Annual Action Plan for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program and to request feedback from the community regarding the proposed plan, officials said.

The CDBG program provides annual grants on a formula basis to entitled communities, such as Pflugerville, to develop viable urban communities by providing decent housing and a suitable living environment, and by expanding economic opportunities, principally for low- and moderate-income residents.

Beginning June 26 through July 27, the 2020 Annual Action Plan will be accissible for public review and comment in a couple of ways:
