Pflugerville Public Library Hosts Pay It Forward Celebration
The virtual event invites community organization's to share their mission, and will also host a by appointment only blood drive.
PFLUGERVILLE, TX—The Pflugerville Public Library hosts its annual celebration to encourage the community to spread kindness throughout Pflugerville and beyond as part of Pay It Forward Pflugerville. This year's virtual event looks to feature local charitable organization's on the event's Facebook page, and community organization's are invited to share about who you are, why you serve, and what you need to continue improving the lives of the people (or animals) you support. More information on being featured may be obtained by emailing Amanda Cawthon at amandac@pflugervilletx.gov for more information.
This year, the library will also announce the winning team of the Summer Reading Competition on social media at 2 p.m. via a special online celebration. Kindess Kits will be available for pick up at the library (while supplies last, one per household) on July 31 and include:
- 2 Adult and 2 Child Face Masks: Keep what you need and pass on what you don’t.
- Postcard & pen: Write a note to someone you haven’t seen in a while to brighten their day.
- Pet Toy Craft: Make a pet toy to donate to the Pflugerville Animal Shelter or an animal welfare group.
- Random Acts of Kindness Idea List: Keep kindness going all year long by trying out some of the ideas from this list.
In addition, community members will have the opportunity to participate in a blood drive to support efforts to save lives at the Pay It Forward Pflugerville Blood Drive scheduled on July 31 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Participants may make an appointment online or call (512) 206-1266, and the blood drive is open to donors with appointments only and will take place at the library parking lot located at 1008 W. Pfluger St. Please note, donors should eat a full meal prior to donating blood and must bring a photo ID to their appointment.
