Pflugerville Public Library Introduces Brainfuse HelpNow, VetNow

PFLUGERVILLE, TX — The Pflugerville Public Library has launched HelpNow and VetNow by Brainfuse, resources offering eLearning and virutal tutoring and free career and academic assistance for veterans transitioning into civilian life, respectively.

HelpNow provides on demand, anytime, anywhere eLearning and virtual tutoring during set hours 7 days a week, for all ages and levels, library officials explained. VetNow offers free career and academic assistance for veterans entering civilian life, officials added.

Both resources are available to all Pflugerville Library cardholders with an internet connection, officials said in an emailed advisory. All patrons need to do is log in to the library catalog and select Brainfuse HelpNow or Brainfuse VetNow from the list of electronic resources to get started.

About HelpNow

HelpNow provides learning solutions for students of diverse needs, backgrounds, and ages. Students communicate with live, online tutors seven days a week from 2-11 p.m. using an interactive, virtual whiteboard. The Writing Lab and the Send Question Center options give users the freedom to receive assistance at any time of the day without connecting with a live tutor. Users can submit papers through the Writing Lab for detailed feedback and can use the Send Question Center for non-writing assignments such as math or science.

For students who prefer to work independently and form their own online study group, HelpNow offers a set of collaborative tools – Meet and Brainwave. Meet allows students to schedule their own online sessions using the Brainfuse Meet whiteboard, which is specifically designed for a group setting. Brainwave is a recordable whiteboard where students can draw, write and chat and send it to others for feedback.

ADULT LEARNING CENTER

Adult Learning Center is the adult learners’ version of HelpNow where patrons access GED prep, U.S citizenship test prep, resume assistance, Microsoft Office support, and Career Resources, which lists popular job search links. Microsoft Office support allows patrons to ask questions about Excel, Word and PowerPoint. The Writing Lab, Send Question Center and the Skills Building are also included in the Adult Learning Center suite.

VETNOW

VetNow helps veterans transition to civilian life through live, interactive career assistance, academic tutoring, and much more. Veterans can use Live Navigator to connect with an expert to learn more about eligible VA benefits and community resources. Online career assistance includes resume and cover letter assistance from trained resume experts and live online interview coaching. Veterans can also build their academic skills through live tutoring sessions, a writing lab, and a library of tutorials and practice tests including the SAT, ACT, GED, GRE, and more.
