Pflugerville Public Library Offers Kids' Spanish-Language eBooks

PFLUGERVILLE, TX — The Pflugerville Public Library has added Lectorum MakeMake to its collection of digital resources to address the needs of those learning virtually, offering reading material for Spanish-speaking patrons.

Lectorum, the largest Spanish-language book distributor in the country, has partnered with Make Make, a Latin American up and coming eBook platform, to provide authentic literature from leading Latin American publishers, library officials wrote in an emailed advisory. The collection includes a carefully chosen selection of picture books, read-alongs, chapter books, folklore, comics, and informational books, officials explained.

As a result of the new offering, 500 titles for children age three to eleven are available via the library’s catalog. Library members can access these books remotely from any device using their library card, officials noted.

MakeMake’s interface is in Spanish to make it easier to use. Many available titles allow children to read and listen to the books’ text simultaneously. Children may read an unlimited amount of books per month on this platform.

Residents who do not currently have a library card but want to access this resource while the library is closed can request a library card by emailing library@pflugervilletx.gov. Library staff are available to assist members with the library card registration process and with accessing electronic books on MakeMake and a variety of other digital resources.

Con el objetivo de satisfacer las necesidades de aquellos aprendiendo virtualmente, la Biblioteca Pública de Pflugerville agregó Lectorum MakeMake a la colección de recursos digitales.

500 títulos de libros para chicos entre 3 y 11 años de edad están disponibles por medio del catálogo de la biblioteca. Los miembros de la biblioteca pueden obtener acceso remotamente desde cualquier aparato utilizando su tarjeta de la biblioteca.
