Pfreeze Pflop Offers Memorable (And Frigid) Way To Ring In 2021
Pflugerville Parks and Recreation hosts the event at the Scott Metzer Pool to kick off 2021 with the tradition of plunging into cold water.
PFLUGERVILLE, TX— Calling all brave souls! Pflugerville Parks and Recreation invite you to slide into the frigid water at the non-heated Scott Metzer Pool for the Pfreeze Pflop and the chance to kick off the New Year in a memorable way, while helping the community.
The event scheduled Friday, January 1, 2021 begins at 10 a.m., and admission is free with donation of a canned food item benefitting local food banks, and this year, the event partners with Circle of Home Community Center. This year, a limited number of participants will also receive a free t-shirt.
COVID-19 safety protocols will be in place at the event including a maximum of 10 people allowed in the pool area at a time for social distancing; masks required except when sliding (there will be a designated spot for participants to leave items, like masks, that are not allowed while sliding). Attendees are asked to wear swimsuits, or dry fit clothes. Not allowed are wetsuits, cotton t-shirts, other non-swimwear, or anything hanging that might catch on the slide.
