SWAT Incident In North Austin Ends Peacefully

AUSTIN, TX — A standoff with a barricaded person who was possibly armed in North Austin ended peacefully some two hours after it began Friday afternoon, police said.

Police initially were dispatched to North Austin amid reports of a man who is possibly armed, officials said Friday. Police officers and members of the SWAT team descended to the 900 block of East Koenig Lane near U.S. 290 close to an Americas Best Value Inn, police wrote in a tweet issued shortly before 12:30 p.m.

The incident ended a little over two hours later, police conveyed on Twitter, with a man placed in custody.
