Police Want Public's Help To Find Armed Robbers in North Austin
The Austin Police Department is investigating a series of armed robberies in Northeast Austin.

The Austin Police Department is investigating a series of armed robberies that have taken place in the northeast area of the city. The suspects are targeting victims in the early morning hours while going to work or waiting for a ride.
“In the most recent incidents, the robberies have increased in violence, resulting in victims being shot,” Austin Police said in a press release. On Sept. 2, a person was robbed at gunpoint on the 2000 block of Chelshire Drive and sustained a gunshot wound to the leg.

Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying two suspects, both black males in their 20s or 30s. Both suspects dress in dark clothing, generally wearing hoodies and some type of facial covering or mask.
They are also looking for an older model, 4-door, dark-colored, mid-sized sedan with a dent on the front right passenger door, no hubcaps and black rims [pictured above].

There are at least five identified incidents as follows, according to APD:
- Incidents 15-2252074 and 15-2251632 occurred on 8/13/15 at approximately 5:30 a.m. During these incidents, the suspects robbed two individuals at gunpoint simultaneously in the same parking lot (1220 Camino La Costa). No injuries were reported.
- Incident 15-2440302 occurred on 9/1/15 at approximately 6:30 a.m. at 7020 Grand Canyon. Suspects robbed one individual at gunpoint in the parking lot.
- Incident 15-2450241 occurred on 9/2/15 at 5:17 a.m. in the 2000 block of Cheshire Dr. Suspects robbed one individual at gunpoint. During this incident, the victim sustained a gunshot wound to the leg.
- Incident 15-2650197 occurred on 9/22/15 at 4:45 a.m. at 5900 Manor Rd. One suspect robbed a city worker at gunpoint, shooting him in the face. Simultaneously, the second suspect chased down and robbed another individual standing at the bus stop across the street.
The suspects in this series are described as:
- Suspect 1: Black male, late 20s to early 30s, approximately 6’ tall, medium build
- Suspect 2: Black male, late 20s to early 30s, shorter than suspect 1, possibly 5’5” to 6’ tall, medium build
