Soaring Wings, North Austin House Featured In Ryan Rosling Film, For Sale

AUSTIN, TX -- Ladies, (and men out there too; it's all good), get your bids ready: A North Austin home in which the movie leading man Ryan Gosling has stepped foot in is up for sale.

Named Soaring Wings, the home is the inspiration of local and renowned architect Winn Wittman, reports Robb Report magazine -- the publication devoted to the good life and its attendant trappings and accouterments.

The home at 202 Redbud Trail is featured in the upcoming Terrence Malick film "Weightless" starring Gosling, who, for reasons we at Patch don't fully understand, is somehow the object of much fan adoration.

Perhaps we're just jealous of his success and the Eva Mendes pairing. But we digress.

The four-bedroom, 6,069-square-foot home completed in 2007 has won numerous architectural awards, Robb Report, well, reports. It's a rather magnificent dwelling, with a two-story bridge connecting its two separate wings.

Robb Report also notes how the floor-to-ceiling windows showcase the surrounding West Lake Hills landscape. There are also motorized mesh shades programmed to an astronomical clock that raise and lower with the position of the sun because you know this is necessary in the Texas heat (don't all Texans have these robotic shade thingys?).

"A black granite pool and shaded rock garden allow for further refuge from the elements," the magazine for wealthy people describes, almost as if to pour salt into our collective wound.

On those two aforementioned wings: "Living, eating, and entertaining spaces encompass the public wing, with bedrooms in the private wings," the author writes. "A two-story glass-and-steel bridge connects them."

Given that vivid description, how the rest of us manage with just the one wing is incomprehensible. But, again, we digress. Did we mention that Ryan Gosling, the actor, has walked around this place?
