Spanish-Language Cinema Showcased At Bullock Museum

The museum, in partnership with Cine Las Americas, host a virtual screening of the documentary "The Forbidden Shore" and an evening Q&A.

NORTH AUSTIN, TX—Audiences are invited to the Bullock Museum's and Cine Las Americas virtual screening celebrating the modern cinema of Mexico and beyond. Highlighting acclaimed films featuring the rich tradition of Spanish-language and Hispanic-heritage movie-making.

Viva Cinema Film Series presents The Forbidden Shore, a 2016 documentary that explores the myriad forms of contemporary music being played in Cuba, through the extraordinary and unlimited access filmmaker Ron Chapman has had to the streets, the people, the musicians, and the stories of contemporary Cuba.

The ticketed virtual screening will be offered daily through Friday, Nov. 13, with a Q&A on Thursday, Nov. 12 featuring Dr. Jean Ann Lauer, Program Advisor to Cine Las Americas, guest moderating a conversation with Ron Chapman, director of The Forbidden Shore.
