Spoon River Project: Part I Intrigues Pflugerville Audiences

The City Theatre Austin presents a virtual performance centered of the famed work of author Edgar Lee Masters to enjoy from comfort of home.

PFLUGERVILLE, TX—Enjoy an opportunity to experience a dose of culture and performances from Austin-based poets and actors from the comfort of home. The City Theatre Austin hosts The Spoon River Project: Part 1 bringing 30 actors, 30 poems, and 30 performances for a riveting evening centered on the work of American author Edgar Lee Masters 1915 Spoon River Anthology.

Made up of distinctly modern poems from the graveyard, Spoon River poignantly captures the politics, love, betrayals, alliances, hopes, and failures of one small rural American town. Spoon River Anthology reveals the true stories about their death - and life - creating a collective and moving portrait on what and who it takes to create a community. The virtual performances are staged and filmed at Austin's Mueller Park from Jan. 19 through Feb. 28 at 7 p.m. Admission is free, and online donations are welcome.
