Suspects Who Assaulted, Robbed Elderly Man Sought In Austin

NORTH AUSTIN, TX — Police are seeking the public's help in identifying a pair of suspects wanted in connection to a North Austin assault and robbery of an elderly man in October.

The incident occurred on Oct. 5 around 7:50 a.m. at the King of the Road Car Wash, 5423 Cameron Rd., according to a police advisory. According to police, two suspects approached the victim as he washed his car before striking him. The suspects continued to assault the man after he fell to the ground, police said, and rummaged through his pockets. The two suspects searched the victim's car for valuables before fleeing, police said.

The suspect were last seen walking northbound on Cameron Road, police said. The victim sustained minor injuries, police added.

Police released surveillance camera images of the two suspects. One was described as being between the ages of 20-25 standing at around five feet, nine inches of heavy build and weight of around 220 pounds. He has black hair that is short on the sides and tall on top, according to the police description. Police noted the suspect has tattoos on the back of each hand, and was last seen wearing a blue, yellow and red "Jewel House" zip-up hoodie, blue sweat pants, Nike "Retro 6 Olympic" shoes and a long gold chain with a pendant.

The other suspect also is believed to be between the ages of 20-25, standing about five feet, six inches tall. He is of average build, weighing between 140 and 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black zip-up hoodie, dark gray cargo pants and black high-top shoes.
