Texas Public Policy Foundation Hosts Transportation Plan Webinar
The online event features a panel of experts discussing Austin's proposed $10 billion transportation plan and its implications to the city.
AUSTIN, TX — The community is invited to an hour-long livestream event Wednesday centered on the future of Austin's proposed $10 billion transportation plan with insight on the COVID-19 implications.
Other issues to be discussed are the cost to taxpayers, impact and the effect on traffic congestion. Titled Will Austin’s $10 Billion Transportation Plan Work? the discussion will center on the city's plan for voters to approve the issuance of billions of dollars in public debt to build a new downtown subway system, additional fixed rail lines and other public transit options.
The online event is scheduled on Wednesday at noon. A panel of transportation authorities will be on hand to discuss the $10 billion proposal, including:

- Ellen Troxclair, a senior fellow with the Texas Public Policy Foundation and former Austin City Council member, seving as moderator.
- Jim Skaggs of the Coalition on Sustainable Transportation.
