Traffic Alert: North Austin Crash Slows Traffic To A Crawl
Accident involving pedestrian and vehicle leads to unconscious victim, congestion as emergency responders arrive at the scene.
NORTH AUSTIN, TX — A traffic accident involving a vehicle and pedestrian has slowed traffic in the city's north side at the peak of afternoon rush hour, officials said on Monday.
The early evening incident occurred at the intersection of Metric Boulevard and West Parmer Lane just before 5:30 p.m., according to emergency responders. Austin-Travis County EMS medics found the pedestrian unconscious in the wreck's aftermath before transporting the person to a hospital for medical treatment.
Transportation officials, meanwhile, reported that the incident has caused traffic to slow significantly as police investigate the scene. Motorists are advised to avoid the area by taking alternative routes to reach their destinations.
