Travis County Food Pantries Revise Program Procedures
In an effort to promote social distancing and protect the community, area food pantries ask clients to phone or email ahead of food pick up.

PFLUGERVILLE, TX —The coronavirus crisis has generated an increase in food insecurity for residents of Travis County, and communities across the nation. The Central Texas Food Bank distributes donated food items to locations designated as food pantries within the communities they serve, and as of the declaration of the COVID-19 global pandemic, it is estimated food need has increased to 300%. These numbers will continue to increase as more people become underemployed or lose work as a result of the current public health crisis.
To mitigate the spread of the disease and in order to follow safe social distancing standards in accordance to the Stay Home Stay Safe Order implemented by Travis and Williamson Counties, area Travis County Community Centers will no longer accept in-person applications for program assistance. In order to pick up food from any of the Travis County Community Centers food pantry locations, appointments will be required for pick up. Those in need of help are encouraged to call or email the community center directly or click HERE.
