Tweens Invited To Graphic Novel Book Club In Pflugerville

The Pflugerville Public Library announces their September book selection inviting kids ages 8-12 to register for a discussion and activity.

PFLUGERVILLE, TX—Calling all readers! Kids ages 8-12 are invited to Tween Graphic Novel Book Club hosted by the Pflugerville Public Library for an opportunity to engage in a discussion and/or activity related to September's book selection.

The Tea Dragon Society by Katie O'Neill is a charming fairy tale about Greta, and adventurous blacksmith apprentice, and the people she meets as she becomes entwined in the enchanting world of Tea Dragons. After discovering a lost Tea Dragon in the marketplace, Greta learns about the dying art form of Tea Dragon caretaking from the kind tea shop owners, Hesekiel and Erik. As she befriends them and their shy ward, Minette, Greta sees how the craft enriches their lives - and eventually her own.

Scheduled Wednesday, Sept. 8 from 4:30 p.m. - 5:15 p.m. at 1008 W. Pfluger St., Pflugerville, TX 78660, participants are required to register for this event and registrants will receive a copy of the book to keep. Details for the event include:

  • Registration required.
  • Please cancel your registration if you are unable to attend.
  • This program will start on time. Registrants must check in within 5 minutes. After that, spots will be given to those waiting for an opening.
  • Materials will only be provided for children in the age range who register for the program.
  • This program will be held in-person, outside in the library's courtyard space.
  • To observe social distancing, participants are asked to sit at the same table, for the duration of the program.
  • Masks are strongly encouraged at library events, but not required.
  • In the event of inclement weather or due to local health concerns, program cancellation will be posted by 10am on the event page of the library website.
  • Participants will notified regarding when they can collect the book and discussion guide at the library in the event of cancellation.
