Two Austin Barbers Who Worked Together for 50 Years To Finally Retire
The popular Hyde Park barbers are hanging up their shears.

Sebastian Zamarripa, Ben Salazar and Juan Barra started working together in 1965 at the Hyde Park barber shop on Airport Boulevard.
Salazar and Barra are retiring later this month, reports KVUE. Zamarripa isn’t ready to hang up his shears just yet. He will move to the Hancock Barbershop in the Hancock Center on East 41st Street.
“It’s going to be a change for me, but like everything else, I’ll adjust,” Zamarippa told the station.

KVUE has a great interview with the barbers. In it, Salazar said, “We’re glad to see each other every morning.”
Now after 50 years, that will change.
