Virtual Guide Offers Resources For Employment Community

The US Dept of Labor and other agencies will offer a virtual guide for resources available to employees and employers amid the pandemic.

NORTH AUSTIN, TX —The US Department of Labor, Wage and Hour Division invite the community to a virtual discussion on COVID-19-related topics for the employment community. DOL/IRS/SBA/EEOC/DWD Navigating COVID19: Employment Community Guide scheduled Tuesday, July 7 at 12 p.m. CDT; Tuesday, July 14 at 12 p.m. CDT; and Tuesday, July 21 at 12 p.m. will offer insight into government responses and important resources amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The virtual guide will highlight the following agencies discussing a range of topics including:

  • US Department of Labor, Wage and Hour Division: An overview of the Families First Coronavirus Response Act or FFCRA, the law enacted in response to the COVID-19 public health emergency.
  • US Internal Revenue Service: Providing information about tax credits under the Employee Retention Credit; Paid Sick Leave and Paid Child Care Leave; programs offering a credit on employment taxes to business owners who participate.
  • US Small Business Administration (SBA): Providing a guide to help small business owners and entrepreneurs pursue the American dream, the SBA provides counseling, capital, and contracting resources to help businesses confidently start, grow, expand and - especially in these times - recover.
  • US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission: Providing an overview of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the relation to COVID-19, and information on where to find EEOC coronavirus resources.
