Webinar Helps Community Cope With Stress, Anxiety
The online virtual event will offer a discussion and Q&A on topics related to managing stress amid uncertain times.
NORTH AUSTIN, TX —In an effort to promote health and well-being, Dr. Emily Stone of Just Mind Counseling, providing comprehensive psychological care to adults, couples, teenagers and children, will host a webinar, Managing Stress in Uncertain Times. The virtual event scheduled Friday, May 1 from 12 p.m. - 1 p.m.
Area residents will learn about helpful ways to manage or cope with the stress and anxiety amid the current coronavirus public health crisis. Topics discussed will include:
- Intentional self-care versus stress management
- Sleep hygiene
- Socio-emotional health
- Mindfulness for stress reduction
- Information on how the brain and body works in stressful situations
- Practical ideas for self-soothing
The goal of the webinar to help participants understand the difference between self-care and stress management; Know how the brain and body respond to stress and how this information can be used; Use specific ways to self-soothe and stay healthy; Name practical ways to improve sleep quality; Utilize mindfulness based stress reduction exercises.
