Wild Basin Wilderness Preserve Hosts Community Fundraising Event
The Hike or Donate to Wild Basin lets residents support the preserve's fundraising efforts designated for programs and services.
NORTH AUSTIN, TX—Celebrate nature and come out and join the community to support Wild Basin Wilderness Preserve with its Hike or Donate to Wild Basin event located in the heart of Austin.
Wild Basin is open with limited hours and capacity and reservations are required for admittance. The Hike or Donate to Wild Basin event will be held across multiple dates, with registration links available. The event offers the community a chance to help protect the wild places that make Austin unique. With nearly 50% of Wild Basin's donation income lost this year, the community's financial help via Eventbrite is needed for preserve protection, trail maintenance, education programs, and expert research.
Participants should arrive ready to hike, and be prepared for rugged Hill Country terrain and varying weather conditions. Bring water to carry with you on the trail, and as a reminder, no facilities are currently available.
In response to COVID-19, Wild Basin follows state and local health orders, and the St. Edward’s University Healthy Hilltop Community Standards. In order to protect the health and safety of visitors and staff, the following additional rules are in effect as of September 17, 2020:
