Winter Storm Update: Warming Centers Open In Travis County

Pflugerville residents may seek shelter from the cold at various warming stations open throughout the City of Austin and Travis County.

PFLUGERVILLE, TX—As the Texas winter weather emergency event continues impacting communities, Pflugerville residents are advised of the various warming centers opened throughout the City of Austin, Travis County, and neighboring Williamson County. Residents affected by ongoing power outages, and seeking shelter and warmth from the adverse temperatures may seek assistance at any of the various facilities.

Space is limited, and residents may call ahead for availability with the Austin-Travis County's hotline at 512-305-4233. You may also call for updates on these locations, which include Travis County and the City of Austin have facilities located at:

  • Palmer Events Center, 900 Barton Springs Rd, Austin, TX 78704
  • Mendez Middle School, 5106 Village Square Dr, Austin, TX 78744
  • Webb Middle School, 601 E. St Johns Ave, Austin, TX 78752
  • Del Valle High School, 5201 Ross Rd, Del Valle, TX 78617

City of Austin and Travis County residents may also call the Austin Disaster Relief Network at 512-806-0800 for assistance.

Williamson County Warming Facilities are located at:

  • Hill Country Bible Church Lakeline, 3300 Little Elm Trail, Cedar Park (pets welcome in crates)
  • Round Rock Baca Center, 301 West Bagdad Ave. #2, Round Rock (no pets allowed)
  • Georgetown Rec Center, 1003 North Austin Ave., Georgetown (pets welcome in crates)
  • Leander High School, 3301 South Bagdad Road, Leander (pets welcome in crates)

Those planning to travel to the listed sites are asked to please prepare and arrive at your destination safely. Wear layers for warmth when outside, or in areas of extreme cold, and bring extra blankets, phone chargers, water, and snacks for your stay.
