Elderly Man Was Kicked And Punched To Death: Police
Investigators released new evidence that indicates Pedro Munive was repeatedly kicked and punched to death

PASADENA, TX -- An 83-year-old man whose body was found by a Pasadena police officer last Sunday was brutally beaten to death, police said Friday. The body of Pedro Munive was found in the parking lot of the Briarcliff Apartments about 6:45 a.m. on Aug. 4.
According to investigators who reviewed video of the assault, Munive was punched about 25 times and had his face and head stomped nearly 75 times at the apartment complex in the 4200 block of Shaver Street.
Two days after the murder, police released a photo of the man they said beat Munive to death. On Wednesday, police identified the suspect as 23-year-old Silano DeJesus Echavarria.

Munive, who collected cans for extra money, was searching for cans at area apartment complexes and parking lots when he was attacked.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-8477 or the Pasadena Police Department at 713-477-1221. A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest.
