Pasadena PD Honors Officer Killed In 1991

PASADENA, TX -- The Pasadena Police Department honored an officer killed in the line of duty 27 years ago.

Officer Jeffery Ginn, an eight-year veteran of the police department, was responding to a disturbance call on July 10, 1991.

As Ginn approached the home, the gunman, who was a former mental patient, began firing at Ginn, KTRK reported.

When the man began firing, Ginn ran to take cover behind his patrol car, and was shot in the head and the chest.

The department honored Ginn on Tuesday with a moment of silence.

Ginn, who was survived by his wife, two children, and his parents, was laid to rest on July 12, 1991.
