AHA's Austin Vestido Rojo Goes Virtual In 2020
Austin Vestido Rojo raises awareness about heart disease for the Austin-area Latina community and will host a virtual event on August 27.
ROUND ROCK, TX — Austin Virtual Vestido Rojo, an American Heart Association (AHA) event raising awareness among Latinas to make a lasting impact in the community, will host a virtual format of the popular event to help in the fight against heart disease, the leading case of death in women. As heart disease heavily impacts the Latina community in and around Austin, audiences will gain insight from experts including a physician sharing knowledge on maternal health and heart disease.
Austin Virtual Vestido Rojo will also feature a Zumba/Salsa exercise demo to get you moving, a healthy cooking demo, and prize giveaways. The FREE event takes place Thursday, August 27 from 6 p.m. - 7 p.m. and will be presented live on the AHA Austin Facebook page. Participants are encouraged to don their red dresses, red lipstick or red pajamas in solidarity with the mission of AHA and post your pictures and follow along with the hashtag #ATXVestidoRojo.
