Here are the top 3 stories today in Round Rock:

  1. On Feb. 10, the Round Rock City Council approved the purchase of nine Ford Lightning electric pickup trucks for $490,000. The trucks will be part of the City's scheduled fleet replacement process and are the first electric vehicles owned by the City. Eventually, the City plans to transition to an all electric fleet to enhance operational efficiency, reduce environmental impacts, and save on long-term costs. (City of Round Rock)
  2. The City Council meeting on Feb. 10 unanimously voted to appoint Shane Glaiser as Round Rock fire chief. Glaiser has served on the Round Rock Fire Department for 27 years and has been the interim chief since October 2021. (Community Impact Newspaper)
  3. The opening of the new Alamo Coffee Co. on 1021 Sendero Springs, Round Rock, has been postponed due to supply chain and contracting delays. The new tentative opening of the veteran-owned business will be April, at the earliest. (Community Impact)
