EasterSeals Central Texas Hosting Virtual Workshop For Families

The Internet Safety for Children and Families Workshop will offer insight and advice on keeping kids and families safe while online.

ROUND ROCK, TX —As more families spend time at home amid the current public health crisis, the need to remain connected is stronger than ever before. For many, this means relying more heavily on technology and devices to help us stay informed or entertained as we practice social distancing. In an effort to keep children and families safe on the internet, Easter Seals Central Texas and the Center for Child Protection will host a free and virtual parent workshop, Internet Safety for Children and Families, on Thursday, May 28 from 9 a.m. - 10 a.m.

With families seeing a rise in screen time as they work on adjusting to a new normal amid the pandemic, there are important steps to take to ensure children remain safe and away from harmful content. The virtual webinar will discuss aspects of the Internet children may be involved with and accessing, possible threats children may encounter while online, and ways to implement precautions and create a safe online environment.
