Hello again, Round Rock! Important update: You all, as readers, have made the Round Rock Daily so successful that it is my honor to announce the next stage of the newsletter. Here are the top three stories today in Round Rock:

  1. Emergency supplies and financial assistance for Round Rock tornado survivors can be found today, Mar. 24, through Mar. 26 at the United Heritage Center at Dell Diamond. To receive assistance from the Austin Disaster Relief Network, homeowners must bring "a photo id, a current utility bill for their home, and a photo of the damage." (101X)
  2. Videos show the Mar. 21 tornadoes in Round Rock catching people off guard, and
some are wondering why the tornado sirens did not go off and warn people. According to Williamson County Judge Bill Gravell, the greatest resource for the community is the local media and local meteorologists, and sirens may not be the best option in today's world with all the technology available. Officials say "there are faster ways to alert people, including messages sent straight to your phone" and "sirens could cause confusion and draw people outside instead of keeping them inside." (KXAN)
  3. Round Rock neighbors are helping each other through this disaster. Caroline Harris spent $2,000 at the hardware store and then started handing out supplies to those in need. She said "this is where I grew up, these are the people I love. This is my home. I wanted to make sure the people here are well taken care of." Trace Gillespie, a tornado survivor, said "people from all the surrounding neighborhoods are coming in, showing up lending a hand." (FOX 7 Austin)
