GoFundMe Fundraisers Created To Help Round Rock Small Businesses

ROUND ROCK, TX —While it's early to ascertain the total impact the coronavirus, or COVID-19, pandemic will have on our country's overall economy, it's evident small businesses will be among the hardest hit. A National Small Business Association (NSBA) Impact Poll indicated in recent weeks 49% of small businesses have seen reduced customer demand for products or services, and 33% have experienced delay or closures in supply chain. Simply stated, small businesses are in the early stages of the coronavirus crisis, and an uncertain future has led to drastic changes to their operations including layoffs and temporary closures.

Amid the recently announced Williamson County “Stay Home Stay Safe” Order to help reduce the spread of the illness in hopes of "flattening the curve", Round Rock residents are under restrictions to shelter in place. The Round Rock community is known for its bustling small businesses and the Stay Home Stay Safe order has essentially brought these businesses to a halt.

To help small businesses impacted by the public health crisis, the City of Round Rock along with the Greater Round Rock Community Foundation, the Round Rock Chamber and Dell Technologies announced an initiative called Round Rock Cares. Additionally, the community has created several GoFundMe fundraisers to help offset some of the economic challenges many of these small businesses are facing.
