Group Raises Awareness For Animal Rescue With Kitten Yoga Event
Pawsitive Karma Rescue to host a fun and meditative afternoon Halloween-themed yoga session and will featuring adoptable kittens.
ROUND ROCK, TX — Yoga, in its most basic description, is a practice toward the purification of mind and body. Based on a set of ethical principles known as Yamas (social restraints) and Niyamas (self disciplines), practitioners learn ways to apply these rules to their lives and their interactions with others. The ultimate goal of the yoga practitioner is a steady mind, thereby a more peaceful and blissful existence.
One of the more dominant principles of yoga is Ahimsa, or the rule to do no harm. Ahimsa recognizes our connection to the world around us and the need to interact in ways exhibiting reverence toward all living beings.
To promote the idea of doing no harm, a local animal rescue group will host a unique yoga experience with a Halloween-themed Kitten Yoga session on Sunday, Oct. 6 at 12 p.m. Yoga instructor and founder of Pawsitive Karma Rescue founder Tammie Brandon will lead the afternoon session that includes meaningful meditation and an opportunity to snuggle with kittens, as well as mimosas, fruit, fall pastries, and treats for the kittens to enjoy. A $20 donation impacts the lives of kittens in danger of euthanasia, and guests at the event will be able to meet kittens available for adoption.
