Here are the top three stories in Round Rock today:

  1. President of the Texas Association of Appraisal Districts and chief appraiser of Williamson County, Alvin Lankford, said "the Texas real estate market is growing as fast as we have ever seen it in the state’s history." The Austin-Round Rock real estate market has increased 35.35 percent in the last year. Lankford also assured residents that an increase in market value does not mean an equal increase in property taxes. (Brownwood News)
  2. Niche.com conducted a survey to discover the best place to live in the nation this year. The survey's ranking was based on public schools, cost of living, local commutes, diversity, crime rates, health and fitness of residents, housing costs, overall satisfaction of residents, and more. Round Rock was named number 29 out of the 50 best places to live in 2022. (KSAT)
  3. The new music venue in Round Rock, 'Round Rock Amp,' will open on Apr. 8! The 18-acre space will host concerts, festivals, and other community-wide events. Round Rock Mayor Craig Morgan looks "forward to this new venue attracting great artists to our community, and the additional benefits it will provide for our citizens." The Apr. 8 opening line up is Mount Westmore featuring Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, Too Short, and E-40. (KXAN)
