Here are the top three stories today in Round Rock:
- Permit requests for residential developments have increased 72 percent from 2020 to 2021. The median prices of homes have also risen from $325,000 in January 2021 to $450,800 one year later. Round Rock real estate agent Naomi Westgard said most of the new construction she is seeing is the standard single-family home, which does not help with affordability. (Community Impact Newspaper)
- Round Rock High School senior Jae'lyn Brooks has just finished his senior basketball season and is considering a preferred walk-on spot with the University of Houston. Jae'lyn is taking advice from his older brother, NBA player Armoni Brooks, who attended Round Rock McNeil High School. Armoni taught Jae'lyn his work ethic so "he could start working harder, earlier, and he could see results faster.” (Spectrum News)
