Round Rock Announces July 4 Celebration Plan
Residents will enjoy a modified Independence Day Parade with routes going through neighborhood to follow safety guidelines amid COVID-19.
ROUND ROCK, TX — The City of Round Rock announced plans to modify its Fourth of July celebrations in accordance to recommended health guidelines amid the COVID-19 pandemic, while allowing residents to enjoy the Independence Day festivities. The City's annual parade will be enjoyed via three separate routes that will pass through Round Rock neighborhoods, with each of the three parades designed to honor the nation's independence and spotlighting local community heroes.
“The COVID-19 pandemic has forced us to make many adjustments over the past few months, but our community has proven that we are resilient in the face of adversity,” Mayor Craig Morgan said. “We are excited to offer a way to enjoy Independence Day with our families while following health protocols issued by the State.”
The parades will be enjoyed by residents from the comfort of their front yards if located along a designated route, or find a space along the route. Those whose homes are located along the route are invited to show their spirit by decorating their yards, with each route also including a "Patriotic Power Stop" for residents can view the parade and enjoy free giveaways and refreshments with City Council Members. The stops will include limited space and will adhere to social distancing guidelines.

The routes are scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 4 and are set to include decorated vehicles, patriotic inflatables and heroes, including military and those working the frontlines during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Red Route will start at Westside Church of Christ and end at Bluebonnet Elementary School, with a power stop at Micki Krebsbach Pool. The Blue Route will start at Caldwell Heights Elementary and end at Centennial Plaza, with a power stop at Meadow Lake Park. The White Route will start at Forest Creek Elementary School and end at Voigt Elementary School, with a power stop at Clay Madsen Recreation Center.
