Round Rock Announces Re-Opening Of Various City Facilities
The City recently announced several facilities to reopen with guidelines and safety protocols to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
ROUND ROCK, TX —The City of Round Rock recently announced plans to re-open many of its city offices and public use facilities beginning the week of Monday, May 18. The upcoming facilities opening include the Round Rock Public Library; Clay Madsen Rec Center using a reservation system (showers and locker rooms to remain closed); Utility Billing lobby open to customers; Municipal Court lobby open (hearings to resume June 1).
Facilities reopening in June include Rock’N River Waterpark and the Micki Krebsbach Pool. The facilities remaining closed until further notice include Allen R. Baca Center and Senior Programs; Lake Creek Pool; Play for All Park; Prete Main Street Plaza fountain; Afterschool and Preschool Programs.
As reminders to observe safety guidelines, reopened buildings will including signage to promote social distancing and hygiene protocols to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Many facilities will now include plexiglass barriers where not previously located to protect customers and staff. The reopening will follow the health protocols for Employers and Employees provided by the State of Texas.

Safety precautions being adopted by the City to mitigate the spread of the disease includes increased daily cleaning and disinfecting, with high-touch points being wiped down throughout the day using EPA and CDC-certified chemicals to kill the virus-causing germs. Hand sanitizers will be located at several points, and visitors and employees in high-traffic areas and in close contact are highly encouraged to wear face masks/coverings.
