ROUND ROCK, TX — A Round Rock mom said her 5-year-old son was bullied at school because of the medical devices he's forced to wear.
"He's trying to live his best life." Christine Greene told KVUE about her son, who suffers from cerebral palsy and suffered kidney failure as a baby before undergoing a transplant. "He wants to be at school, like everybody else. He wants to walk down the hallways. He wants to sit at his desk and draw and paint and color and read and do everything that those kids want to do too."
She told the news station the experience highlighted the scourge of bullying that has come under a a national spotlight while underscoring a need to teach children lessons related to empathy. She did credit Round Rock administrators for quickly addressing her concern, saying they vowed to look into the matter to avoid such occurrences from repeating in the future.
