Here are the top stories in Round Rock today:
- Round Rock Independent School District will have to wait another two weeks to learn the fate of Superintendent Dr. Hafedh Azaiez. Parents are anxious for a resolution to the accusations of an extramarital relationship and abusive behavior against the Superintendent. The RRISD Board of Trustees has punted its final decision until a special meeting on Mar. 8. (Austin Chronicle)
- A truck lost control and crashed against a concrete barrier on N. State Hwy 45 westbound at Greenlawn Blvd in Round Rock early Thursday morning. Round Rock police announced just before 6:30 a.m. that the on-ramps for SH-45 in Round Rock and the flyover from southbound I-35 to westbound SH-45 will be closed due to freezing weather conditions. This followed multiple reported wrecks. (CBS Austin)
- On Thursday evening, Round Rock City Council approved more than $3 million worth of stormwater, wastewater, and water projects to improve drainage around the city. According to the City, the stormwater projects will be funded with American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds, which are expected to pay for $10.7 million worth of projects over the next five years. The City’s Self-Financed Water Construction and Self-Financed Wastewater Construction funds will cover the wastewater and water projects. (City of Round Rock)
