Here are the top 3 stories in Round Rock today:
- Williamson County District Court Judge Betsy Lambeth has extended a temporary restraining order against the proposed censure of two Round Rock school board trustees, Danielle Weston and Mary Bone. Weston and Bone filed a suit in September against the other five board members over the censure vote. The lawsuit claims "a trustee can only be publicly censured after refusing to respond to two prior violation notices discussed in closed meetings" and those meetings were never held. The hearing to determine if the court has jurisdiction will now be held on Feb. 23. (Free: Newsbreak; Subscription: Austin American-Statesman)
- The Austin Board of Realtors (ABoR) announced the Austin-Round Rock area housing market in January 2022 saw a 5.8 percent decline in closed sales compared to January 2021. Cord Shiflet, ABoR president, said January 2022 was the second-most active January on record in the area, but "our community — including elected officials — needs to do more to
address the systemic issues we face when it comes to getting new homes built quickly and residential redevelopment projects completed faster." (KVUE) - The North Forest Office Space announced the second phase of a new office park, at 2631 Gattis School Road, is "expected to be completed by the end of the third quarter of 2022." According to plans, the office park will be adjacent to another office park owned by North Forest, Gattis School Commons, with Dazzle Coffee between them. (Community Impact Newspaper)
