ROUND ROCK, TX — Austin-area friends and neighbors are invited a unique and virtual event that celebrates creativity and can be enjoyed from the comfort and safety of home. The 10th Annual Trash Makeover Challenge is a high profile contest for fashion designers, stylists and models to create original high fashion looks made of recycled and recovered materials hosted by the Texas Campaign for the Environment. This year celebration honors the 29th anniversary of Texas Campaign for the Environment, and the 10th year of the Trash Makeover Challenge.

Previous years have drawn Austin's elite, from fashion visionaries and tastemakers to top business leaders and other prominent figures most hailing from Austin. Having transitioned to an online format amid the pandemic, this year's event will be open for wider audiences to enjoy. Scheduled Saturday, August 29 from 7 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. and will feature actor Mehcad Brooks as the evening's emcee. Audiences will enjoy a one-of-a-kind fashion show challenging designers to create clothing from repurposed materials, take part in deciding the People's Choice awards, and learn more about the work to fight pollution in Texas.

The event will also include an online auction running now through August 29. This year's event will be by donation, and guests are invited to choose a designated amount when registering for the event. For more information, click HERE.
