Here are the top three stories in Round Rock today:
- Republican Charles Schwertner won the District 5 Texas Senate Primary with 100 percent of the votes, there was no Democrat in this district. Democrat Luis Echegaray won the District 52 Texas House of Representatives Primary with 100 percent. Republicans Caroline Harris, 31.36 percent, and Patrick McGuinness 35.12 percent, will have a run-off election because neither received more than 50 percent of the votes. (KUT)
- The Round Rock Public Library and the Friends of the Library announced "One Community, Three Books—Round Rock Unites Through Reading," which is a community-wide reading program to "foster a community experience through reading, conversations, and programs." The program will run from Mar. 21 through Apr. 30. (City of Round Rock)
- Today, Mar. 3, is the opening of the Frontier Bank of Texas at 7509 O’Connor Drive and there will be an opening celebration. This is the seventh location for the "Elgin-headquartered community bank" and includes a "customer lobby, drive-up banking, night deposit, and ATM services." (Community Impact Newspaper)
