Trout Fishing Derby Lets Families Enjoy Leisurely Afternoon
The Brushy Creek Trout Fishing Derby offers residents a fun afternoon competing and enjoying a leisurely event with neighbors at the pond.
ROUND ROCK, TX — Looking for a fun family event to enjoy in Round Rock? Brushy Creek invites the community to its Brushy Creek Trout Fishing Derby on Monday, Jan. 20 from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. at Shirley McDonald Park Duck Pond. Come out and enjoy a relaxed afternoon fishing alongside friends and neighbors. There will be rods and reels available to borrow and bait is provided, and Brushy Creek Parks Department staff will be on hand to offer assistance.
Participants over the age of 17 will require a fishing license and guidelines for Trout Fishing in Texas and Parks & Wildlife may be found HERE. Participants who catch fish will be able to take their fish to a check-in table for measuring, and participants may take home up to 5 caught trout. The District provides bags of ice, or coolers are allowed on premises. Measurements of fish size and quantity caught during the event will be recorded and used for awarding prizes.
