Virtual Q&A Offers Insight On Speaking To Kids About Race, Racism

The online event will feature educator and parent Melissa Patrick, MSW discussing how best to speak to your children about racism.

ROUND ROCK, TX — The community is invited to a program designed for parents/caregivers of children of all ages to explore topics surrounding how to discuss race and racism in our country. Kids, Race and Racism: Where to Start is a free virtual event hosted by SPARK Kindness, a nonprofit connecting people and communities through kindness, and will offer insightful discussion with antiracist educator and parent Melissa Patrick, MSW.

The virtual event takes place Tuesday, Aug. 11 at 6 p.m. and will be formatted as a Q&A discussion for parents and caregivers who are curious to learn about ways to talk to their children about race and racism. ASL interpretation will be provided at this event, and is a great opportunity to gain a deeper understanding for the conversations happening within our society at the moment.
