Virtual Summer Camp Offers Enrichment And Learning For Kids
The Andy Roddick Foundation hosts its ARF Summer at Home, a free virtual summer camp for kids in kindergarten through 5th grade.
ROUND ROCK, TX —The Andy Roddick Foundation is hosting its free Summer at Home virtual camp open to students in kindergarten through 5th grade amid the COVID-19 pandemic. ARF Summer at Home is an eight-week virtual program providing an enrichment and educational experiences for students at home.
The virtual camp gives kids hands-on learning activities centered on an Explore Your World theme. Throughout the summer-long virtual event, students will explore space, Earth, world travel, cultures and language, oceans, jungles, deserts, and animals through videos and lesson plans. The virtual camp is designed by elementary school teachers with activities aligned to the Texas Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) standards.
Each week students will receive:

- STEM activities and lesson plans
- Story time videos and related art and learning activities
- Physical activities to get moving at home
- “Keep Learning” daily activities including:
- Maker Monday Art Studio
- Totally Science Tuesday
- Workout Wednesday
- Thoughtful Thursday SEL Corner
- Family Friday (healthy lessons with Brighter Bites)
- Virtual field trip related to the theme including curated tours and national and international opportunities to learn and explore
- Theme-related fact sheet
- Material lists for all activities
ARF Summer at Home begins Monday, June 8, 2020, and continues through Friday, July 31, 2020. Each week's lesson plans and playlists will be delivered to parents and caregivers' inbox before the start of the week. Lessons can be completed in a prescribed sequence or at a student’s own pace.
