Here are the top three stories in Round Rock today:

  1. The City of Round Rock announced yesterday, Mar. 4, that the Brushy Creek Regional Wastewater System Treatment Plant "is experiencing a significant increase in the amount of wastewater it is receiving, putting the plant above its permitted discharge levels for volume of wastewater." The plant is located along Highway 79 in Round Rock and, pending tests, the City will "issue further guidance on public use of Brushy Creek immediately downstream of the plant." The public drinking water supply is not affected. Utilities and Environmental Services Director Michael Thane said "we are working diligently to reach a resolution to this matter" and will provide an update to the regular City Council meeting on Tuesday, Mar. 8, at 7:30 a.m. (City of Round Rock)
  2. The Round Rock Transportation and Economic Development Corporation and the City Council approved economic incentive payments (EIPs) totaling $500,000 for Emerson, an engineering, technology and software company. To get the EIPs, Emerson must hire 50 to 60 new employees and invest $9 million in real property improvements and business personal property at their Round Rock headquarters by 2023. (Business Facilities Magazine)
  3. Restore Hyper Wellness is moving from one Round Rock location to another, 110 N. I-35 to 200 University Blvd., Ste. 310 in the University Commons shopping center. The 110 N. I-35 location will close on Mar. 20 and the 200 University Blvd. location will open on Mar. 25. (Community Impact)
