On February 27, 2022, at approximately 2:43 p.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a collision between a Chevrolet Impala and a Capital Metro Bus. The driver of a Chevrolet Impala was struck by the Capital Metro bus at the intersection of E. 11th and IH 35 NB SRVD. All the individuals in the Impala were transported to nearby hospitals. Later, the 6-year-old child succumbed to her injuries sustained in the collision and was pronounced deceased.
