CommUnityCare Expands Women’s Health Services In South Austin
Acquisition of four OB/GYN practices into company's health centers network ensures continued healthcare access to thousands of local women.

SOUTH AUSTIN, TX — CommUnityCare officials announced they will absorb the operations of a multi-site medical practice comprising four clinics, including a South Austin location.
In assuming the operations of Austin OB/GYN practices into CommUnityCare's expansive network of health centers starting on June 4, the company helps ensure continued access for thousands of Austin-area women to reproductive health, gynecology and pregnancy services close to their homes, company officials said.
Dr. Jeff Hagen, founder and lead physician of Austin OB/GYN, said he sought out a partnership with CommUnityCare because of the alignment in mission between the two organizations. “Serving the Medicaid population has been a passion of mine my entire career," he said. "This partnership allows me the opportunity to continue to serve this population with the support of a primary care network that has the resources to meet the comprehensive needs of our patients.”

Dr. Ashley Choucroun, CommUnityCare’s Women’s Health Medical Director, said the partnership ensures women's health services in a fast-growing regions of Central Texas.
“The addition of these four medical practices, one located in Austin’s Riverside neighborhood, another in Austin’s Springdale area, one in Manor, and the last one in Bastrop, helps ensure that women residing within growing areas of Central Texas continue to have access to prenatal care, contraception, and gynecologic services.” Choucroun said.

Added Chris Rios, CommUnityCare. board chairman: “Our Board is thrilled with this important expansion of women’s health care services and warmly welcome the Austin OB/GYN team to our CommUnityCare family.”
Operations at the four Austin OB/GYN locations will remain unchanged, officials said. All of the clinics' telephone numbers, medical records, and/or appointment processes, and most providers and staff will transition to CommUnityCare unchanged as well.
New locations open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. are:

• 2410 E. Riverside Dr. Suite G-2; Austin TX 78741
• 7112 Ed Bluestein Blvd Suite 105; Austin, TX 78723
