Fundraiser Launched For Family Of Man Struck By Car In S. Austin
David Sell, 31, was killed after being struck by a Peterbile semi-truck, leaving a wife and newborn baby behind.

SOUTH AUSTIN, TEXAS β A fundraising campaign has been launched to aid the family of a man who was struck and killed by a truck in South Austin earlier this month, leaving a wife and newborn baby behind.
The incident occurred on Jan. 15 along the 10500 block of North Interstate 35 southbound just before 6:30 a.m. A Peterbilt semi-truck was traveling southbound in the center lane of the highway when it struck David Sell, 31, who was not visible to the driver given the darkness of the early morning hour when he was struck.
By the time police arrived at the scene, Sell was already dead from the impact of the collision.

"Our dear friend, new father, and incredible human being, Dave Sell, has left this world tragically, leaving his wife and newborn baby girl Ruth without the means to continue the life they had imagined," a message on Facebook reads. "The outpouring of support has been incredible, thank all of you! Dave and I have been very close for more years than I can count and his wife Ive is the embodiment of kindness and grace. This is a hard blow for us all. Ruth, unfortunately, got very little time with her father but she was loved by him and always will be."
