Homicide In The 1900 Block Of W. Rundberg Lane In City Of Austin

The Travis County Medical Examiner's office will conducted the autopsy on June 13, 2021 and ruled the cause of death.

Deceased: Lidia Carapia-Hernandez, Hispanic female, D.O.B. 1/4/1971
Arrested: Augustine Moreno, Hispanic male, 32 years of age

The Austin Police Department (APD) has identified the victim in Saturday’s homicide on Rundberg Ln. as Lidia Carapia-Hernandez and the suspect as her son, Augustine Moreno. On Saturday, June 12, 2021, Austin 911 received a call saying that Lidia had been shot. Although the caller was not able to provide a good address, officers were able to find the location and discovered Lidia. She was quickly transported to a local hospital and was pronounced deceased at 4:07 p.m. The victim’s son, Augustine Moreno, was on scene.

Homicide investigators and crime scene technicians were called to the scene to investigate. As a result of the investigation, Augustine was arrested and charged with murder. He is currently being held at the Travis County Jail.

The case is still under investigation.

The Travis County Medical Examiner’s office will conducted the autopsy on June 13, 2021 and ruled the cause of death as gunshot wounds and the manner, homicide.
